The Ministry of Industry and trade of the Russian Federation (Minpromtorg of the Russian Federation) is a federal executive body that exercises:

 

 

  • Functions in the development of the state policy and legal regulation in the field of industrial and defense-industrial complexes, energy saving and energy efficiency improvement in the turnover of goods, as well as in the field of development of aviation technology, technical regulation and ensuring the uniformity of measurements, science and technology in the interests of the state defense andsecurity, foreign and domestic trade, foodservice industry and consumer services, and national artistic trades;

 

  • Functions in the provision of public services, state property management in the engineering, metallurgical, chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, medical, light, forestry, pulp and paper and woodworking, electronic, aviation, and shipbuilding industries, communications, radio industry, munitions industry and special chemistry, chemical disarmament, conventional weapons industry, and national artistic trades;

 

  • Functions in supporting export of industrial products, providing access to markets of goods and services, in holding exhibitions and fairs, in conducting investigations prior to the implementation of special protective, anti-dumping or countervailing measures related to import of goods, as well as compensatory measures provided for by the Agreement on Uniform Rules for Providing Industrial Grants of December 9, 2010, on the application of non-tariff regulation measures, as well as the functions of the authorized federal executive body performing state regulation of foreign trade activities, except issues concerning customs and tariff regulation and those related to the Russian Federation membership in the World Trade Organization;

 

  • Functions of the federal body for technical regulation.
